shoebox360.com provides you with a rich photographic gallery experience with high resolution pictures in a secure and managed environment. Flickr will allow you to have high resolution images and Facebook will allow you to create a community of friends, however neither offer a service which brings high quality images from your community of people together of your special events.

The owner of the shoebox chooses who they want to have access to their gallery by distributing their key. Shoebox360 also has the option that only people invited by you or explicity approved by you can access the photographs on a shoebox, so even if someone finds out the key to you shoebox or someone else invites them you have full control. You can also stop people being able to download pictures from your shoebox should you so chose. Finally if you wish to remove someone from a shoebox, you can do this as well. We take security and privacy extremely seriously.
At the end of your subscription, you have a choice to make. Either take out another subscription to extend the life of your shoebox or buy a DVD of your photographs. With the Wedding/Special Event gift pack, you will receive a DVD at the end of your subscription as part of your package. Remember you can download any of the pictures at high resolution and print at any time. After one month from the date of expiry of the shoebox all of the photographs on that shoebox will be permanently deleted. We will of course notify you before we complete this final step for an expired shoebox.
Silverlight is the software provided by Microsoft to make the amazing experience in shoebox360 possible. The download enables Silverlight to run on your PC or Mac. The application is downloaded directly from Microsoft. If you want to find out more about Silverlight please click here.
Should you chose not to install Silverlight you will not be able to use the shoebox360 service.
Some companies choose to disable an employees ability to install software on their work machine. If this is the case with your work PC/Mac then you can either request that the IP department allow you to install Silverlight, or access shoebox360 from your home PC/Mac if you have one.
No. There is no limit. However we do have a fair use policy that specifies that shoebox360 is a consumer product and commercial usage is not permitted within the terms and conditions of use of the shoebox360 service. We will only ever invoke the fair use policy if it is clear that the usage of the service breaks the terms and conditions of use.
You will be given a key to access your shoebox. All you need to do to get your friends and family to view and upload photos is either e-mail friends the key or send a link to your shoebox (this can be found in the share this shoebox section in the left hand panel of your shoebox.
We can help you too by e-mailing your friends on your behalf within the share this shoebox section.
Once friends/family have clicked on the mail they receive inviting them to the shoebox or have entered the key on the site, they are ready to view the photos and upload any they have to your shoebox.
We are looking at the requirements to import from other social networking sites and photo services. However for the best experience, we would encourage you and your friends to upload high quality images directly from your computer or camera to get the best from your shoebox experience.

Once you have purchased your shoebox, you will be able to transfer ownership to your friend easily by clicking the 'shoebox options' link just below the shoebox name, then clicking on the 'Transfer Ownership tab'. Upon purchase of your wedding and special event gift package, you will receive a gift pack which you can then send to your friend. In the pack, there is an introductory letter, information leaflet, 10 tent cards for tables, stickers for thank-you cards (carrying the unique number with your event's unique key). At the end of the subscription a DVD of the shoebox will be sent to the shoebox owner with all the memories of their special event.
Typically photo print products take five days to arrive in the post from the date of order. If you are requesting larger items such as a canvas this can take up to 10 days to arrive.
Yes. As the shoebox owner you can invalidate someone's access to a shoebox.
When you are purchasing a shoebox, you can state when you would like the shoebox subscription to start. Therefore if you are purchasing for an occasion or event in the future, or purchasing as a gift, you will be able to start the shoebox to coincide with your event times.
Yes. We are currently available across Europe and US.
Our system uses your email address of securely communicating key information about shoeboxes and events you have been invited to by your friends. We NEVER share email addresses with ANY third party and we NEVER send email that is not related to a shoebox or your user account, so you will NOT receive spam from us including any "special offers" to get you to print. Visit our news page if you are interested in these offers.
Yes. We have partnered with Fujifilm as we believe they offer a first class print service, however you are under no obligation to use Fujifilm and you can download any photos from your shoebox and have them printed elsewhere if this is what you choose.
Yes. The rich photo experience is the same on either Macs or PCs. However on the mac you need to have a mac system that uses the intel processor as Silverlight only runs on these machines. So if your mac is three or more years old you should check that it is an intel mac and not a PowerPC mac.
shoebox runs brilliantly on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows XP. We would recommend that users of Microsoft's internet explorer are running Version 7 or higher. This is a free upgrade available from Microsoft.

The simple answer is yes. Each shoebox gallery/subscription carries its own cost. If you have a few shoeboxes, you can choose to extend all, some or none as you require.
